Some of us simply want to chill a bottle or two of wine or soda without having the bottles rolling around and taking up too much space in the refrigerator. The Vacu Vin Easy Stack is a piece of rubbery material that you lay down on the shelf of the refrigerator. Depending upon how far away from the edge of the shelf you place it, you create the space you need to store bottles on their sides. The material doesn't slip and would be easy to wash if something spills on it. This item is so basic and so useful that I'm surprised that it's not carried in every grocery store and wine shop. Ours is typically used for water bottles as pictured, and we have had no issues, regardless of the "base size" of the structure. We've also used it for beer bottles, wine bottles, bottled soda, and 2-liters.Since we're usually stacking plastic bottles, some people are less careful about which they're grabbing. Even when you pull out a "base" bottle and the others fall into place, the Easy Stack holds its footing. Although it has never slipped or budged on accident, yet it's easy to intentionally reposition based on your needs that moment. There's no sticky residue or anything left behind: the material keeps from slipping on its own. I debated for a while if this would be "worth it," but it's quite possibly the best $6 I've ever spent.
